What are the power supply methods of UPS

2022-09-13

UPS generally refers to uninterruptible power supply. UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) is an uninterruptible power supply with an energy storage device. Now the application of UPS is more and more extensive and can be seen everywhere in life. However, in different usage scenarios and different on-site environments, the UPS configuration methods are also different. There are two main power supply methods of UPS. Now Upsystem Power factory will introduce it to you in detail.

What are the power supply methods of UPS

There are two power supply modes of UPS, one is online and the other is offline.

The so-called online type means that the AC power input terminal of the UPS is connected to the AC power supply. When the AC power supply is normal, the AC power is stepped down, rectified and filtered, and the battery is floated while charging, while the inverter works, and the electrical equipment is connected to the UPS inverter. At the output end, when the AC power fails, the inverter automatically converts the power supply to the battery, maintains the inverter output, and continues to supply power to the electrical equipment until the battery voltage drops to the protection voltage or the AC power restores power.

The so-called off-line type means that the AC power input terminal of the UPS is connected to the AC power supply. When the AC power supply is normal, the AC power is stepped down, rectified and filtered to float the battery, and the automatic control mechanism will transfer the AC power to the UPS inverter output socket. Provide power to electrical equipment. At this time, the output terminal of the inverter is disconnected from the output socket, and the inverter does not work. When the AC power is cut off, the automatic control mechanism will disconnect the AC power to the UPS inverter output socket, the inverter output terminal will be connected with the output socket, the inverter will be powered by the battery and put into operation, inverting output, and supplying electrical equipment. Supply power until the battery voltage drops to the protection voltage or the AC power restores power.
